Julie Kong taught a Lunch & Learn session on "Self-Defense: Building Blocks to your Professional Growth". As Julie says, "Self-defense skills go beyond the physical protection of oneself. The ability to react quickly, remain calm, move confidently, and strategize are all attributes useful in the workplace." The one hour-session included demonstrations and participation by audience members.

ACTION SATURDAY EMPOWERMENT TRAINING
Chicago Foundation for Women's Young Women's Leadership Council, with DePaul University, Jennie Goodman, and Julie Kong of WT Chicago Self-Defense, presented the first Action Saturday, a series of action programs hosted by the council. This program focuses on empowerment training and is part of the year-long "What Will It Take" campaign to bring awareness of violence against women and girls.

ADVANCED CONFIDENCE TRAINING FOR WOMEN USING REVAT SELF-DEFENSE TECHNIQUES
For the second year in a roll, Ingo Weigel, Head Instructor, and Julie Kong, Women's Self-Defense Instructor, presented Revat principles and fundamentals of reflex training, and demonstrated self-defense movements to women attending the 2007 Women's Leadership Symposium. Feedback was very positive. Women stated the session was informative and movements very helpful to learn.
